A Brief Overview Provides safe, efficient, age‑specific nursing care to patients and families using the nursing process to assist them in attaining, maintaining, regaining, and sustaining optimal health status. What You Will Do Implement the nursing process by delivering effective, relationship‑based nursing care. Demonstrate technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes. Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively to optimize patient care and clinical operations. Develop yourself and contribute to the professional practice of nursing. Display leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes. Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. Refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities. Abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients; complete annual training and follow UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures for appropriate use of PHI. Education BSN – Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required) MN – Master in Nursing (Required) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of the nursing process and practice (Required proficiency). Use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (e.g., stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers, and electronic monitoring devices) (Required proficiency). Licenses & Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or Multi‑State Compact License (Required upon hire). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required upon hire). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit; refer to the ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document on the DWP Nursing Portal to determine unit requirements. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit; refer to the ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document on the DWP Nursing Portal to determine unit requirements.
