Frozen Foods Clerk

Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service. Rotates and replenishes merchandise. Ensures cleanliness and safety in the department, and checks temperatures of cases for correctness and consistency.

Accountable to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home, Frozen Department Manager, Service Managers.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

• Providing prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
• Rotating and replenishing merchandise
• Ensuring cleanliness in the department
• Checking temperatures of cases for correctness and consistency

Secondary duties and responsibilities include:

• Ordering product and supplies
• Assisting with inventory
• Pricing products for customers
• Assisting in other areas of store as needed
• Performing other job related duties and special projects as required

Knowledge, skills, abilities and worker characteristics include:

• Ability to solve practical problems
• Ability to do arithmetic calculations
• Ability to file, post, and mail materials
• Ability to interview to obtain basic information

Education and experience: No education requirement. Six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred.

Physical requirements include:

• Ability to perform medium work
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions

Working conditions include exposure to noise, temperature extremes, dampness, equipment movement hazards, and a fast-paced work environment with significant pressure.

The anticipated hourly starting wage for this position is $13.00 to $16.25 depending on experience.
