Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist

CRI-Help is a substance use disorder treatment center with several locations across Los Angeles County. Basic Function The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for performing all duties related to the processing of vendor invoices, and employee reimbursements. This role ensures that expenses are recorded accurately, vendors are paid on time, and financial practices comply with nonprofit accounting standards and organizational policies. Responsibilities Receive, review, and process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding to the appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers. Verify proper authorization and support documentation for all payables. Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies. Maintain AP records in accordance with audit and compliance requirements. Support annual financial audits by providing documentation to auditors. Communicate with program staff and vendors to answer inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and troubleshoot payment or billing issues. Assist in compiling and organizing backup documentation for weekly check runs. Perform other related duties as assigned. Attend monthly staff training as applicable. Skills / Knowledge Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Great Plains or similar accounting software. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and customer service skills. Education / Training Must have High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a demonstrated knowledge of non-profit bookkeeping systems. At least 12 college level accounting units are preferred, however experience may be substituted. Experience Minimum 3 years of accounts payable experience. Working Conditions Frequently remaining in stationary positions, standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods. Constantly inputting data into a computer, viewing one or more computer monitors for the duration of the shift. Occasionally crouching below the waist and/or reaching above the shoulders. Occasionally lifting and/or moving objects up to 20 lbs. Special Conditions Must be willing to undergo random drug screenings.
