About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Underwriting in Construction SDI. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to providing a fresh perspective on client risks. This role is pivotal in the company's mission to add creativity to tech-enabled efficiency and robust analytics. Responsibilities include reviewing submissions to ensure they align with the company's risk appetite and business strategy, generating new business by collaborating with brokers and prospective clients, and being market-facing to cultivate new relationships. The role also involves in-depth analysis of complex risks, performing underwriting activities, and demonstrating a strong customer service mindset. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience, with a minimum of 3-7 years in the industry. Advanced knowledge of SDI underwriting, risk engineering, construction operations, or construction risk management is essential. The role requires excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as expertise in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with AI platform usage in a business setting is a plus. The candidate should be adaptable to change in a rapidly growing company environment and embody the values of the company, including being relentlessly curious, transparent, and committed to making a difference.
