Job Summary

Crucial Link is recruiting for an Accounts Payable Specialist for an established food manufacturing company in Brook Park, Ohio .

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience processing invoices, maintaining accurate records, reconciling accounts, and communicating with vendors. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work in a professional office environment.

Responsibilities

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for:

• Processing company payments and expenditures accurately and on time
• Matching, coding, and entering invoices
• Disbursing company checks in a timely manner
• Performing general ledger posting
• Preparing aging reports
• Research accounts payable issues with customers and vendors
• Following up on invoice, payment, or vendor-related questions
• Maintaining account reconciliations and chargebacks
• Ensuring payments are made within vendor and supplier time limits
• Identifying and taking advantage of eligible payment discounts
• Filing and maintaining Accounts Payable records
• Maintaining detailed records and preparing communications as needed
• Assisting with general administrative duties, including answering phones when needed
• Interacting professionally with staff, vendors, customers, and the general public
• Assisting with special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

Qualified candidates should have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Some college-level accounting coursework
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar accounting or accounts payable position
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience using accounting software systems
• Ability to use internet and intranet-based systems
• Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
• Ability to organize work, multitask, and consistently meet deadlines
• Ability to read and write reports and business correspondence
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Professional, customer-service-focused attitude
• Ability to work independently with initiative and good judgment
• Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-focused mindset

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred but not required:

• Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

This position is primarily performed in a general office environment. Candidates should be able to:

• Operate standard office equipment
• Communicate and exchange information clearly
• Prepare, organize, and maintain work documents and files
• Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
• Work occasional evening or weekend hours as business needs require
• Occasionally travel by automobile, if needed
