Description

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with cardiovascular surgery experience for a Level I Trauma hospital position, open to first-time travelers.

Details

• Work in the CVOR department of a Level I Trauma hospital
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Call requirements apply
• Performs cardiovascular procedures including Aortic Aneurysm repair, CABG, ECMO insertion/decannulation, Mitral valve replacement, Pericardial window, TAVR, and VAD
• Thoracic procedures include lung resection via thoracotomy and VATS
• Utilizes Cell Saver, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources/cords

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• BLS and CST certifications required
• License required if applicable
• Trauma Level I hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Proficient in aseptic technique, specimen handling/labeling, and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
• Experience with endoscopic procedures including bronchoscopy and EGD
• Knowledge of decontamination and sterilization processes and indicators

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Maintain sterile fields and support safe conduct of cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries
• Participate in emergency management and fire safety protocols within the surgical setting
• Support sterile processing procedures and equipment decontamination
• Candidates residing within certain nearby counties are not eligible for contract consideration
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to assignment start
