Accounting Manager

Overview Accounting Manager – Utilities & Regulated Energy Remote considered for experienced utility accountants with extensive experience working with the Railroad Commission of Texas. We are seeking an Accounting Manager to lead financial accounting operations for a private equity backed regulated energy company. This role offers visibility across the business, direct reporting to senior finance leadership, and the opportunity to shape financial processes in a lean, hands-on environment. What You’ll Do Manage and mentor a team of 3–5 accountants. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting cycles. Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory accounting principles, and internal policies. Support regulatory filings with state commissions and FERC. Partner with auditors on annual financial and regulatory audits. Lead system transitions from legacy platforms to new financial/CIS systems. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related; CPA strongly preferred. 7–10 years progressive accounting experience, including management. Direct experience preparing or supporting regulatory filings with the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC). Prior experience in a regulated utility, energy, or infrastructure environment. Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and regulatory accounting standards. Skilled with general ledger systems, CIS software, and Excel.
