Service Operations Manager

Position Description PCM Services is looking for an entrepreneurial operator to run a piece of the business like it's their own. As Business Unit Director, you'll take full ownership of one to three service lines — the P&L, the field leadership team, and the relationships that drive revenue. This isn't a back‑office management role. You'll be in the field with your superintendents one day and in front of a customer or reviewing margins the next. We're looking for someone who's spent enough time in construction or specialty contracting to know how the work actually gets done, and who's ready for the autonomy and accountability that comes with running a real business unit. What You'll Own The Business P&L accountability — own the budget, forecasting, and financial performance of your service line(s), with real authority to course‑correct when numbers move. Annual planning — build the budget and goals for your unit alongside business unit leadership, then own getting there. Revenue growth — partner with the VP of Sales to build and run your sales and marketing playbook; identify and develop new markets for your service line(s). The Team Field leadership — hire, train, mentor, and evaluate your production managers and superintendents. They look to you for direction — and for the standard. Culture — set the tone for how your team shows up for customers and for each other, and carry PCM's service standards through every job. The Work Project oversight — troubleshoot active projects, keep schedules and budgets on track, and review performance weekly against plan. Customer and partner communication — stay the consistent point of contact for customers, subcontractors, and your internal team across the life of a project. Cross‑functional partnership — work closely with corporate services, sales, and estimating to keep projects compliant, profitable, and moving. Risk and compliance — ensure contracts, change orders, and extra work are properly authorized and documented before work begins. Subcontractor and vendor management — source and manage subcontractors and suppliers, and keep procurement and invoicing on schedule. Position Requirements 3+ years of commercial experience managing exterior or specialty construction projects, with real time spent in the field A track record of business development — you know how to build relationships that turn into revenue. Solid grasp of construction industry fundamentals: scopes, schedules, budgets, and subcontractor management. Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Comfort with Microsoft Word and Excel; a valid driver's license with a clean record.
