Early Career Geotechnical Engineer

Job Summary Early Career Geotechnical Engineer position at Geosyntec in Los Angeles, CA requiring hands‑on field investigations, construction monitoring, engineering calculations, and report writing. Responsibilities Conduct geotechnical field investigations Monitor heavy civil construction projects Perform and review engineering calculations Work in earthquake engineering, dam and levee evaluations, design, and permitting Develop construction documents Write and review engineering reports Travel to client, project, or office sites as required Education & Licensure Bachelor’s degree in civil and/or environmental engineering (required) Advanced degree in the same field (preferred) Skills, Experience and Qualifications At least 2 years of experience in engineering consulting or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred) Prior internship or work in engineering consulting (preferred) Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Slope/W, and PLAXIS (preferred) Regular field work and overnight travel (required) Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client‑driven drug and background testing (required) Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel (required) Compensation & Benefits Typical base salary: $77,235 – $111,800 per year (Los Angeles, CA). Compensation is determined by education, experience, skill set, and location.
