Job Summary
The Staff Accountant assists the Controller and CFO in managing the organization’s financial accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, grant cost and allocation accounting, payroll oversight, and audit support. This role ensures compliance with organizational accounting policies, grant requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
· Perform month-end close activities, including preparation and review of financial statements prior to grant and fund billing
· Prepare monthly journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
· Reconcile general bank accounts and payroll bank accounts on a monthly basis
· Maintain and reconcile monthly general ledger accounts with a high degree of accuracy
Grant & Fund Accounting
· Assist Controller/CFO with development and monitoring of grant and program budgets
· Track, verify, and ensure grant and fund billings are accurate and submitted by required deadlines
