Job Responsibilities Investigation – Respond to, investigate, and problem‑solve routine complaints reported by patients, parents, visitors, and employees. Engage expert resources to address concerns in a timely manner. Monitor – Direct traffic within Cincinnati Children's, control parking for all patients, parents, visitors, and employees. Escort individuals to and from parking areas as needed and manage access to the entire medical center, including necessary locking and unlocking of buildings and grounds. Assist clinical staff with patient restraint – Physically restrain patients or other visitors as instructed by the appropriate clinical staff. Monitor combative or potentially combative patients for extended periods. Requires annual recertification in physical restraint training. Patrol – Patrol buildings and grounds by motor vehicle, foot, and bike. Ensure only authorized personnel are admitted onto hospital premises, verify proper badging for visitors, staff, and patients, and report safety and fire hazards. Look for violations of the Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, and Cincinnati Fire Code safety requirements. Provide way‑finding and general assistance during routine security duties. Visitor Management – Respect the right of parents/guardians and adult patients to determine who may visit. Communicate visitor policies, enforce approvals, and provide appropriate badging and access. Job Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of work experience in a related discipline. Valid driver’s license. Ability to complete TCI training and receive TCI certification within 6 months of employment start date. Physical strength, stamina, agility, and control to safely perform the following tasks: stand for extensive periods, walk, stoop, kneel, twist/turn, lift/carry up to 30 pounds, squat/crouch, lunge, maneuver to the floor, slide down a wall while supporting the weight of another person, and get up quickly from the floor to a standing position.
