Remote Business Analyst

A client is looking for a Business System Analyst with a Project Manager background to join their project delivery team. In this role you will be working within a large company, however this project delivery team is in its infancy - so we are looking for someone who is self directed, has a find a way mentality, and can help drive the needle forward. As a Business System Analyst you will be working on a lot of projects pertaining to Application Rationalization, where we are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of applications how to move people from one to another through change management. In this role you will be reviewing and evaluating all software applications that are being used and determine which ones should be kept, improved, replaced, or retired. The goal would to be to make their application portfolio more efficient, cost effective, and aligned with business needs.
Additionally, you will be helping this person organize technology during M&A. Additional responsibilities include:
Look at all software the company uses:
Figure out which tools are redundant
Decide which tools to keep and which to retire
Help move teams onto the chosen tools
Track costs and savings from these changes
Work with many teams to gather information and keep projects moving
Day to day, they are talking to stakeholders, collecting data, and building plans to simplify IT systems.
Inventory applications across the company
Track licensing, costs, and ownership
Build project plans and timelines
Recommend tool consolidation strategy
Help execute migrations between tools
Track synergy savings and cost reductions
Help define processes and playbooks for future M&A work

Required Skills & Experience

4+ years of professional experience as a Business System Analyst
Background as a Business System Analyst working on technology projects ranging from Application rationalization, Infrastructure, and Security - with Application understanding being most critical.
Experience gathering and writing requirements
3+ years of experience with mergers and acquisitions: experience with application rationalization preferred
2+ years of experience as a project manager
Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment
