Position Overview
The Business Development Manager in GRG's Metal POD is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within the metal roofing market. This role builds and maintains strategic relationships with owners, general contractors, architects, and developers to expand the Metal POD's project pipeline, strengthen GRG's market position, and support the division's growth goals. Standard business hours with regular travel to client sites, jobsites, and industry events; occasional evening hours for client entertainment and networking.

Key Responsibilities

 

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the metal roofing and construction market.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, architects, and developers.

• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to meet Metal POD revenue and growth targets.

• Generate qualified leads through networking, industry events, referrals, and market research.

• Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, bids, and presentations to prospective clients.

• Collaborate with Estimating and Preconstruction teams to develop competitive, accurate proposals.

• Maintain and update the CRM system with accurate pipeline, contact, and opportunity data.

• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within the metal roofing sector.

• Represent GRG at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.

• Negotiate contract terms and ensure a smooth transition of awarded projects to the Project Management team. ​​​​​​​• Represent GRG at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.

Skills & Qualifications

 

 

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 5+ years of business development or sales experience in metal roofing, construction, or a related industry.

• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets.

• Established network of industry relationships (owners, GCs, architects, developers) preferred.

• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

• Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
