Inside Sales Engineer

The main goal of an inside sales engineer is to set qualified appointments for their assigned RSM(s). Secondarily the ISE role will manage their territory(s) meeting calendar, follow-up on current sales and service opportunities, and prospect for new potential customers via email and phone.

Primary Activities

Activities:

Weekly

a. Meet with their assigned RSM(s) to determine “stake in the ground” meetings a minimum of 2 weeks out. (meet on the 1 st to discuss scheduling for the week of the 15 th ) once the “stake” meeting has been determined it is the job of the ISE to fill in the rest of the week with meetings in the general area using existing contacts in our CRM or through prospecting.

b. Meet with assigned RSM(s) to review success of the previous week and get updates on hot accounts/leads that need to be followed up on.

c. Review of previous weeks’ metrics

i. Set 6 solid appointments per week in the assigned territory (s)

ii. A minimum of 30 contacts per week (contacts are speaking to potential customers via phone (actual contact and logged in CRM) or getting an email reply that is logged in the CRM Daily

a. Use the CRM contacts to set meetings for their assigned RSM(s)

b. Contact potential customers via phone, email, text, and social media

c. Set a minimum of 1 solid appointment for their assigned RSM(s)and log in the calendar

d. Make 10 follow-up contact attempts on current/open opportunities via email and/or phone

e. Spend 1 hour per day researching on the internet to discover new potential customers. Log these new potential customers in the CRM database for future prospecting

f. Spend 30 minutes per day researching our competition to enrich industry knowledge

g. Forward any pertinent emails to RSM and notify the RSM with important updates as needed.

h. Perform all other in office duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, preferably with a technical marketing degree is an asset or commensurate with work experience.

· Minimum 2+ years’ experience in Inside Sales role

· Direct customer experience and ability to balance multiple projects at the same time

· Project management experience and time-management skills for juggling numerous time-sensitive projects simultaneously. 

· Technical aptitude and willingness to take ownership of results is a must.

· Tool measuring and management knowledge will accelerate but is not required.

· Working knowledge in Salesforce or CRM system is a plus

· Ability to learn and retain product specific information as it pertains to the position.

· Exceptional customer first skills.

· Ability to achieve targets on time and accuracy is paramount

Salary + commission on both positions

ISE: Base + .5% on assigned territory(s)

SISE Base + .65% on assigned territory(s)
