Service Technician (Saint Paul)

Service Technician – Eastlink Location: Designated Office – 5602 52 Ave, Bonnyville, AB T9N L2L. Field work may also be required in Charlottetown, PE. This position requires mostly working in field or from the designated office location. Responsibilities As a member of an experienced in-field technical team, the Service Technician will be responsible for providing superior customer service through the identification, troubleshooting and correction of service problems in the outside plant for both forward and return paths. This includes locating faults from the mainline to the customer’s premises that impair the operation of Eastlink’s services. Committed to maintaining the outside plant network in a timely and effective way, you will work towards the ultimate goal of providing the superior services that Eastlink is known for. Eastlink provides in‑house technical and safety training as well as training on specific services and duties that increase with experience to ensure you have the skills to succeed. Qualifications The ideal candidate is a professional, customer‑oriented individual with strong problem‑solving skills, technical aptitude and enjoys working in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing work environment. You are a graduate of a recognized Electronics program. Relevant industry repair and maintenance experience is considered an asset. NCTI or SCTE training is considered an asset. You are committed to fostering a safe work environment and proactively demonstrate Occupational Health & Safety work‑safe practices. You must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record, and be able to travel throughout the region. A driver’s abstract and criminal background check will be requested during the recruitment process. Manually lift, push and pull up to 90 lbs. Work in inclement weather conditions (including snow, rain & cold). Kneel, crouch and work above shoulders on occasion. Work safely aloft from a ladder, pole gaffs, or bucket truck near energized equipment and/or power lines.
