Vertex Spring 2027 Co-op, Scientific Writing and Disease Area Communications
$20 - $35 per hourVertex Pharmaceuticals
Vertex seeks a co-op student for a 6-month scientific writing and disease area communications program supporting pipeline announcements and internal/external content creation. The role offers hands-on experience in corporate communications within a biotechnology company.
Responsibilities
- Support creation and execution of communications plans for pipeline announcements and content campaigns
- Develop website copy and draft social media content for program milestones and pipeline conferences
- Research, write, and produce pipeline-related content for employee intranet including articles and multimedia
- Write internal and external content for disease recognition and awareness initiatives
- Compile campaign metrics and provide insights to inform digital strategy and future planning
Requirements
- Pursuing bachelor's or master's degree in life sciences, journalism, communications, marketing, or related field
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Understanding of scientific method and scientific concepts
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Prior internship experience in communications or medical/pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry preferred
- Self-starter who delivers results with limited direction and guidance
- Legal authorization to work in United States; enrolled in advanced degree if graduating before June 2027
Compensation: $20.00-$35.00 USD/hour
