Job Description

The Transportation Analyst determines cost-effective methods for transporting various types of products and equipment while meeting delivery requirements and complying with regulations, standards, established policies, and business needs. This role analyzes transportation routes and modes, negotiates fees, coordinates with related internal and external groups, and ensures that all necessary approvals from relevant authorities are in place. The Transportation Analyst performs assigned functions in supply management and transportation to support efficient, reliable, and compliant movement of goods.

Responsibilities

• Determine cost-effective transportation solutions for various types of products and equipment while meeting delivery requirements and service expectations.
• Analyze transportation routes, modes, and carriers to optimize cost, efficiency, and on-time delivery performance.
• Negotiate transportation fees, rates, and related terms with carriers and service providers in alignment with business requirements and policies.
• Coordinate transportation activities with related groups, including supply management, logistics, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
• Make overall arrangements for shipments, including scheduling, documentation, and communication with all relevant parties.
• Obtain necessary approvals from authorities and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and internal policies.
• Use advanced Excel capabilities to create, manage, and maintain spreadsheets that support transportation planning, cost analysis, and performance tracking.
• Apply SAP knowledge to manage transportation and supply chain data, transactions, and reporting in alignment with organizational processes.
• Work independently and maintain strong focus and self-control while performing responsibilities in a remote or hybrid environment.
• Support continuous improvement in transportation and supply management processes by identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency gains, and enhanced service.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation, supply management, logistics, or a closely related field.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, including creating and managing spreadsheets, using formulas, and implementing data validation.
• Proficiency with SAP for managing transportation and supply chain-related data and processes.
• Strong self-control, focus, and the ability to work effectively in a remote or hybrid setting.
• Ability to analyze transportation routes and modes and make data-driven decisions.
• Ability to negotiate transportation fees and coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of regulations, standards, and policies related to transportation and supply management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience coordinating transportation activities with cross-functional teams such as supply chain, logistics, and operations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to ensure clear coordination with carriers and internal stakeholders.
• Experience using spreadsheets and SAP to support continuous improvement initiatives in transportation and supply management.

Work Environment

This role follows a Monday to Friday schedule in a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work with on-site presence as needed. The position relies heavily on the use of Excel and SAP to manage transportation data, analyze costs and routes, and support supply chain operations. The work environment requires the ability to maintain focus and self-discipline while working remotely, collaborate effectively with distributed teams, and operate within established regulations, standards, and company policies.

This is a Contract position based out of Medley, FL.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
