Key Responsibilities\n

• Build and maintain a positive, trusting rapport with clients to foster a safe therapeutic relationship.

• Conduct thorough assessments to diagnose mental health disorders and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s distinct needs and life circumstances.

• Facilitate sessions using a variety of therapeutic modalities to effectively treat individuals and couples, adjusting methods as necessary based on clients’ responses and progress.

• Regularly monitor and report on patient progress, conducting ongoing assessments to ensure treatment effectiveness and making adjustments to care plans as required.

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community resources, referring clients to specialists when additional support is necessary for holistic treatment.

• Stay current with evidence-based practices in marriage and family therapy, incorporating them into sessions to enhance treatment outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our patient population includes individuals and families grappling with a wide range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and trauma. As an LMFT at Sentara Wellness Center, you will be directly involved in helping clients navigate these challenges, equipping them with tools and strategies to foster emotional resilience and improve relational dynamics.

Qualifications\n

• A valid LMFT license is required to practice psychotherapy in Connecticut.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is essential.

• Exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Compensation and Benefits\n
