Position Overview
The HR Assistant serves as the main point of contact for the Human Resources Department, supporting a wide range of administrative and HR functions. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Act as the primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries
- Answer and route phone calls, emails, and internal requests
- Manage HR documentation, including status changes, check requests, and employee records
- Support payroll-related processes such as employee updates, timesheet corrections, and wage replacements
- Maintain inventory and distribute equipment (laptops, headsets, webcams, gate keys, etc.)
- Handle employment verification requests
- Perform confidential data entry and typing assignments
- Complete general administrative tasks (mail sorting, filing, ordering supplies)
- Assist with Wellness Committee activities, events, and meetings
- Process union medical reimbursements and uniform distribution
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and other HR functions as needed
- Collaborate with providers and staff; provider onboarding support may transition to a manager in the future
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong administrative background
- Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments and stakeholders
- Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment
- Strong typing and communication skills
- Experience interacting with staff and healthcare providers
- Proficiency in ADP, Canva, and Excel
Preferred Experience
- Previous HR experience in a community clinic or healthcare setting
