Seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to provide dedicated instruction for students in grades 3, 4, and 5 in a welcoming educational setting near Hartford, CT. This contract opportunity involves working in both an ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) room and a FLEX room, both of which are self-contained classroom environments designed to support individualized student needs. The specific caseloads are being finalized but rest assured you’ll be supported by a collaborative team committed to student growth.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in self-contained or specialized settings
- Familiarity with ABA methodologies and differentiated instruction practices
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing caseloads and classroom needs
- Dedication to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment for all students
Role includes:
- Delivering engaging and tailored instruction to students with unique learning needs
- Collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrative staff
- Managing student IEPs, documenting progress, and participating in IEP meetings as required
- Utilizing ABA and flexible instructional strategies to help students meet individualized goals
- Maintaining a structured, positive classroom environment that encourages academic and personal growth
