The Midwest Counseling Center is currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Therapist to work in a full-time remote capacity, specializing in trauma-informed care. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to thoroughly evaluate each client’s trauma history, strengths, and therapeutic needs.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to promote recovery and enhance resilience in patients.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate patient healing.

• Lead individual and group therapy sessions that encourage participants to process their trauma experiences and develop effective coping strategies.

• Work collaboratively with our psychiatrists and other health care professionals to ensure a cohesive treatment approach for all clients.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies to ensure client safety and stability.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, coping methods, and available community resources to promote informed care.
\n
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation that adheres to legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.

• Engage in professional development through consultations and team meetings, fostering continuous improvement in trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to enhance service quality and patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our patients consist primarily of individuals grappling with the aftermath of trauma, including military veterans, survivors of abuse, and individuals coping with significant life changes. Your compassion and specialized training will directly influence their journeys toward recovery, helping them understand their experiences and rebuild their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure in California as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in clinical mental health settings is preferred, especially in trauma-focused care.

• Strong expertise in trauma-related disorders and an understanding of trauma-informed treatment methodologies.
\n
• Exemplary interpersonal communication skills with a genuine ability to empathize with clients while maintaining professionalism.

• Proficiency in EHR systems and a comfort level with technology for effective remote counseling.
\n
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, working closely with fellow health care providers.

Compensation and Benefits\n
