Sous Chef - High Volume Restaurant Group

Our client, a well-established and highly respected restaurant in Boston, is seeking a Sous Chef to join their culinary leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional to contribute to a quality-driven operation with a strong focus on teamwork, guest experience, and operational excellence.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor Line Cooks and Prep Cooks, ensuring consistency and quality at every station.
  • Execute menu items with precision while maintaining the restaurant’s high culinary standards.
  • Uphold strict health, safety, and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen.
  • Assist with inventory management and communicate ordering needs to culinary leadership.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment at all times.
  • Lead by example and help foster a positive, ego-free, team-oriented culture.
  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and execution during service.
  • Support leadership with staff development and daily operational needs.

 

Requirements:

  • 2–3+ years of culinary experience required.
  • Experience with seafood or Italian cuisine is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Strong commitment to food quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction.
  • Thorough knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Creative approach to food presentation and menu execution.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in a high-pressure environment.
  • Culinary degree or certificate required.
  • Team-first mentality with a collaborative and professional approach to leadership.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $65,000 – $75,000
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • PTO available
  • No 401(k) currently offered
