LVN / LPN - Dialysis

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking a dedicated LVN / LPN to provide specialized dialysis care in an outpatient setting. The candidate will be responsible for delivering quality patient care during dialysis treatments, ensuring patient safety, and adhering to clinical protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Administer dialysis treatments following established procedures and safety standards.
• Monitor patient vital signs and response to treatments, adjusting care as necessary.
• Manage equipment including blood pumps, alarms, and dialysate systems to ensure optimal operation.
• Identify and respond promptly to complications such as blood leaks, hypotension, or disequilibrium syndrome.
• Document patient care activities accurately using the EPIC system and manage charting requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure compliance with infection control policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active NY LVN / LPN license with at least 1 year of dialysis experience.
• Demonstrate outpatient chronic and acute dialysis experience, including blood and blood product administration.
• Possess strong knowledge of dialysis equipment, alarms, and clinical procedures such as cannulation of AV fistula and graft.
• Be proficient in EPIC charting and capable of managing complex clinical scenarios.
• Have current BLS certification and ability to manage emergencies like cardiac arrest or air emboli.
