Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - ACLS - BLS - NIHSS - Neuro and Trauma Care experience Description: The Progressive Care Unit has 44 beds and is staffed with 95 personnel. The day shift consists of 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. The night shift has the same staffing structure. The patient ratios are 4:1 on the grid and can stretch to 5:1. Key equipment includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner. Candidates should have neuro and trauma care experience as this is the most sought-after skill set. Typical procedures performed include neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placements, TLSO braces, chest tube insertions, PCA pump management, IV infusions, lumbar drain operations, feeding tube placements, and blood transfusions. The ideal candidate is a team player and patient-focused. Floating may occur in stepdown and med-surg units. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs. Every other weekend availability is expected. This position is a contractor replacement.
