Location USA - Rio Rancho, 4100 Sara Road Job Details Division: Solutions | Job Posting Title: Operations Supervisor - 117053 | Time Type: Full Time Position Summary The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising, labor management, and planning of inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communication activities daily, including labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment and manpower. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues and resolving problems. Under the direction of the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for supervising the receiving, warehousing and shipping of products in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality and comply with all corporate and site-specified policies. Shift: 5 - 7am to 7pm, Sun-Tues, EO Wed. Ability to be flexible with time is expected in this role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities, plan and assure continuous improvement. Effectively keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect operations. Ensure the development of systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures. Manage operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals and comply with client-specified KPIs and quality system requirements. Implement and report on ongoing cost savings measures and provide ideas for more efficient operations. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, create fair supervisory programs, counsel, and discipline team members as needed. Provide direction and support to Human Resources and assist in hiring, training, and professional development programs. Participate in performance evaluation systems for recommending promotions, wage increases, and other HR activities. Have overall training and evaluation responsibilities for warehouse staff. Plan daily work schedules by reviewing work orders, arrival notices and customer instructions; assess priorities and assign duties. Review pending jobs, plan for reorganization of warehouse space, and adjust staffing and supplies. Train new staff and delegate training to experienced members, assessing progress. Provide guidance regarding quantity and quality of jobs throughout the day. Assign supervisory duties to experienced leads for lower-level staff and monitor progress. Inform Manager of daily progress or problems requiring attention and hold regular meetings with staff to assess status and discuss improvement ideas. Assist in physical operations as needed. Deliver results by leveraging the right people at the right time. Maintain high motivation among team members to focus on customer satisfaction. Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities and conduct annual performance reviews. Support adherence to SOPs and train team members with SOP compliance. Skills & Abilities Education & Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 3 years’ experience in logistics, distribution or a related environment. 1 year experience in a supervisory role. Preferred: Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program. Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Experience with RF scanners. Experience with WMS functions. Language Skills English reading, writing, and verbal. Business communication. Mathematical Skills Basic to intermediate level skills to verify quantities, count inventory or perform other duties. Other Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and personnel skills. Good written and oral communication skills. Leadership, supervision, and planning skills. Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends. Participate in cross-training metrics activities to improve knowledge in multiple areas. Adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Work overtime as required. Work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse; temperature range mild to moderate. Physical Demands Bending occasionally. Walking and standing frequently. Sitting constantly. Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 11-20 pounds; reach above shoulder, squat, or kneel.
