Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations to assess clients' emotional, behavioral, and psychological needs.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that address clients' unique circumstances and goals, incorporating therapeutic techniques tailored to each case.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing a diverse range of therapeutic modalities.
\n
• Monitor and document clients' progress throughout the treatment journey, making adjustments to plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to coordinate interventions effectively.

• Provide essential support and guidance to families of clients, helping them understand mental health challenges and learn techniques to assist their loved ones.

• Stay abreast of current developments in psychotherapy and best practices in mental health care.

• Participate in consultative follow-ups for clients who are admitted to hospitals to ensure integrated and continuous care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a wide range of clients, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and interpersonal relationship issues. Your expertise will allow you to address the unique needs of various demographics, emphasizing culturally competent and sensitive care practices. You will work respectfully with clients from diverse backgrounds, adjusting your approach to suit their specific cultural and personal circumstances.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LPC, or LCSW) in the state of New Jersey is a must.

• Candidates must have successfully passed the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong familiarity with evidence-based practices and current trends in mental health treatment.

• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with diverse client populations.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous professional experience as a mental health counselor, specifically in a community health clinic or similar setting.

• A deep understanding of trends in addiction disorders and co-occurring physical health conditions.

• Knowledge of best practice guidelines established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Ability to educate clients about the effects of medications prescribed for mental health issues.

Compensation and Benefits\n
