Position Summary As an Employee Benefits Consultant, you will develop relationships with business owners, executives, and HR professionals to help them evaluate and improve their employee benefits programs. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process—from identifying opportunities to presenting customized solutions and supporting clients through implementation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, solving complex business challenges, and creating long‑term client relationships. While previous employee benefits experience is valuable, we’re equally interested in individuals with strong business development and consultative sales skills who are eager to learn. Success in this role means consistently developing new business opportunities, delivering exceptional client experiences, and becoming a trusted resource within the business community. Responsibilities Develop and maintain relationships with business owners, CFOs, HR leaders, and decision‑makers. Identify prospective clients through networking, referrals, community involvement, and business development activities. Conduct benefits reviews and uncover opportunities to improve plan design, reduce costs, and enhance employee experiences. Present customized employee benefits strategies and explain complex concepts in a clear, consultative manner. Coordinate with internal account management and implementation teams to ensure seamless client onboarding. Maintain ongoing relationships with clients by providing strategic guidance throughout the year. Stay current on healthcare trends, compliance updates, carrier offerings, and alternative funding strategies. Represent NorthStar Benefits Partners at networking events, industry functions, and community organizations. Maintain accurate client information and sales activity within the company’s CRM. Consistently meet or exceed individual sales and business development goals. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent professional experience). Previous experience in employee benefits, insurance, B2B sales, financial services, HR consulting, or related fields preferred.Colorado Health & Life Insurance License (or ability to obtain shortly after hire). Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities. Self‑motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Comfortable learning technical insurance and healthcare concepts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
