Role Overview
Evaluate outputs from generative music AI across multiple musical categories, providing detailed technical and musical feedback to improve model quality. Work remotely with a leading AI research lab to rate, annotate, and score AI-produced lyrics, vocals, and mixes in English (US).
Key Responsibilities- Assess AI-generated lyrics and vocal generation, and evaluate other audio output against defined standards.
- Score the quality of musical training data used by models.
- Write and read music in the domain language listed in the title, contributing informed musical judgement.
- Follow and apply instructions provided in English.
- Conduct head-to-head comparisons of AI-generated samples, rating musicality, creativity, prompt adherence, vocal quality, and production and mix quality, using audio engineering terminology.
- Annotate songs in detail, including genre and sub-genre classification, song structure, and vocal and instrumental characteristics, using a provided structured taxonomy.
- Minimum 3 years experience working as a music producer, audio engineer, or sound mixer.
- Demonstrable understanding of musical performance, music theory, and songwriting or lyrics.
- College degree in music that includes coursework or practical experience in performance, theory, and lyrics.
- Past experience writing lyrical music in English (US).
- Native or near-native proficiency in English, and the ability to understand and follow directions delivered in English.
- Work arrangement: Remote.
- Employment type: Hourly.
- Start date: Immediate.
- Duration: Up to 6 months.
- Commitment: Part-time, minimum 10 hours per week.
- Hourly pay range: 30 to 54 per hour.
- Native or near-native English (US) required for writing and evaluation tasks.
