JOB DESCRIPTION

Level I trauma - 886 beds

Shift: Primarily Days with some late night (evenings) and on call/call per unit needs.

• Also known as Invasive Cardiac Technologist (ICT), certified technicians who assist with heart surgery
• FT positions available, primarily days with some late requirements, 10-hour shifts.
• The Surgical Technologist will prepare the procedure room and sterile field for surgical procedures including the setup of sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• They must be able to anticipate equipment required during procedures, operate equipment, and maintain sterile instruments.
• Surgical Technologist's will be required to function in multiple roles of the procedure team including scrub, circulator, and documenter.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BLS and ACLS
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• The ability to stand for extended periods.
• Strong technical skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Passionate about patient care
• Requires a minimum of two years of current Cardiovascular Tech Cath Lab experience.
• Graduate from a fully accredited Radiology/Cardiovascular Tech program
• Active unencumbered New York Cardiovascular Radiology Tech state license
• One year of Epic experience
• Good organizational skills are a must.
• Must be a Certified Surgical Technician or meet the NYS requirements to be grandfathered into Public Health law 2824.
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI or ARRT (prefers ARRT)
