FDY, Inc., a food service management company, located at The Charlotte Doulas Internation Airport, is seeking both full time and part time applicants for our Grounded In Charlotte Full Service Restaurant. Position Summary: The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all front of house (FOH) and back of house (BOH) operations to ensure exceptional guest service, efficient workflow, and consistent product quality across our restaurant's dining, bar, and kitchen areas. This leadership role is pivotal in driving a diverse team, controlling costs, maintaining high operational standards, and fostering a positive workplace culture, all while delivering an outstanding dining experience to our guests. Leadership & Staff Management: Lead, train, coach, and motivate all Food & Beverage staff, including service teams, bartenders, kitchen staff, and supervisors. Create and manage shift schedules to maintain optimal coverage, labor efficiency, and smooth operations. Promote clear communication and strong teamwork between FOH and BOH departments to enhance operational efficiency. Conduct staff evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and administer corrective actions as necessary to maintain high performance. Guest Experience & Service Standards: Ensure all guests receive consistent, high-quality service across dining rooms, bars, and event spaces. Proactively handle guest concerns promptly, effectively, and professionally to ensure customer satisfaction. Maintain and enforce established service standards, steps of service, and guest experience protocols to elevate the dining experience. Menu, Product, and Quality Oversight: Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Bar Manager to develop and maintain innovative food and beverage menus, including seasonal updates and cost adjustments. Ensure compliance with standardized recipes, portioning, and beverage specifications to achieve quality control. Oversee the presentation, accuracy, and timing of food and beverage service to meet high standards. Conduct product tastings and evaluate ingredient and beverage quality to uphold quality assurance. Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations across all F&B outlets, including dining rooms, bars, lounges, and kitchen areas to ensure seamless functionality. Ensure clear and accurate communication of orders between FOH and BOH teams to facilitate timely service. Monitor cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness of all service areas to conform to health and safety standards. Maintain the functionality of equipment, schedule repairs, and track maintenance records diligently. Track and analyze food, beverage, and labor costs; implement cost control measures while maintaining quality standards. Assist in preparing budgets, forecasting expenses, and monitoring department financial performance for optimal profitability. Review invoices, maintain purchase records, and ensure accurate financial documentation in compliance with company policies. Inventory & Supplier Relations: Oversee ordering and inventory management for both food and beverage programs, ensuring freshness, minimizing waste, and preventing stock shortages. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and evaluate supplier performance to enhance operational efficiency. Ensure proper receiving, storage, rotation (FIFO), and documentation of inventory to maintain quality standards. Safety, Compliance & Standards: Enforce all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations across FOH and BOH settings to ensure a safe working environment. Maintain compliance with health department regulations, alcohol service laws, and company policies to safeguard operations. Train staff on allergen safety, responsible alcohol service, and emergency procedures to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff. Culture & Professionalism: Actively foster a positive, respectful, and professional environment through effective communication, teamwork, and consistent leadership. Lead by example in professionalism, hospitality, and service excellence to inspire the team. Perform additional tasks assigned by management to support overall restaurant operations and enhance customer experience. Qualifications: Previous experience as a Food & Beverage Manager, Assistant F&B Manager, General Manager, or Kitchen Manager in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment. Strong knowledge of food, beverages, culinary operations, service standards, and current industry trends. Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage large, diverse teams effectively. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment. Experience in budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and vendor negotiation. Familiarity with POS systems, inventory platforms, scheduling software, and F&B operational tools. Valid responsible alcohol service certification (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol, or state-approved equivalent) and Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain). Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. A degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field is preferred but not required. Must pass required TSA security background check.
