Job Title: Shipping Clerk

City and State: Elgin, IL

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $23.00/hour

Schedule/Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Employment Type: Evaluation Hire (Temp-to-Hire)


Summary:
As a Shipping Clerk, you will perform shipping duties for the plant, including scheduling shipments, tagging products, maintaining an organized warehouse, and operating a forklift. This role supports efficient warehouse operations by ensuring accurate documentation, timely shipments, and strong communication with internal teams and transportation partners.


Responsibilities:

• Check in drivers, verify truck seals, and coordinate truck scheduling for loading and unloading activities.
• Operate forklifts and assist with the movement, organization, and storage of products within the warehouse.
• Prepare shipping documentation, process daily data entry, and maintain accurate shipment and order records.
• Coordinate export shipments, including containers and required export documentation.
• Communicate with customer service, supervisors, and transportation providers to support shipment schedules and resolve issues.

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of experience in shipping, warehousing, or distribution center operations.
• Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy in shipping documents and product quantities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to maintain organized records and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
