ASSOCIATE MANAGEMENT AUDITOR

High-Speed Rail Authority Office of the Inspector General JC-513503 – Associate Inspector General – Associate Management Auditor Monthly Salary: $6,646.00 – $8,740.00 Job Overview Under the direction of the OIG‑HSR Supervising Management Auditor, the Associate Management Auditor is responsible for independently handling complex inspections, evaluations, reviews, audits, and investigations. The incumbent provides oversight of technical areas such as parametric cost estimates, cost controls, project schedules, risk management, change order management, and economic benefit and projected ridership calculations for the California high‑speed rail project. Responsibilities Plan and conduct assignments, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and OIG standards. Assist annual risk assessments and engagement planning processes. Perform quality reviews of OIG‑HSR program activities. Provide staff development assistance and, when appropriate, lead lower‑level staff. Prepare and present findings to management, maintaining professional judgment and ethical conduct. Minimum Requirements Associate Management Auditor classification (Class Specification J‑C‑515003). Minimum required experience and education listed in the Class Specification. Desired Qualifications Objectivity, impartiality, sound judgment, and high integrity. Professional skepticism and diligence in engagements per professional standards. Confidentiality and respectful communication with stakeholders. Strong teamwork, strategic thinking, and ability to manage change. Knowledge of government auditing standards and professional investigation standards. Experience with cost estimation, project scheduling, economic benefit calculations, and procurement oversight. Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Knowledge of California state government functions and relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines. Work Conditions Telework is available for California residents on a part‑time basis. The incumbent works in a professional office environment, climate‑controlled and under artificial light, requiring prolonged computer use.
