As a Speech Language Pathologist in Jacksonville, Florida, your role will go beyond simply diagnosing and treating communication and swallowing disorders. You will be instrumental in unleashing potential, restoring confidence, and creating connections that span from young children exploring their first words to older adults reclaiming their independence.
This position offers a remarkable chance to work with individuals of all ages in a caring and dynamic environment that combines outpatient therapy and occasional inpatient support. Whether your enthusiasm lies in nurturing pediatric language development, addressing neurogenic communication disorders in adults, or rehabilitating cognitive-linguistic function in the elderly, you'll discover both fulfillment and flexibility in this role.
Description

- Craft personalized treatment plans that align with the unique short-term goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs of each patient.
- Deliver targeted one-on-one speech therapy interventions tailored to areas such as communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Assist with occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to maintain consistent care throughout the treatment journey.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation that meets state, federal, and organizational compliance requirements.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in your field through ongoing education and networking with peers.
Education

- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet accredited by ASHA.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of employment.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in evidence-based treatment strategies for clients of all ages, with a solid foundation in both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, fostering connections with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Adept at customizing therapy techniques to address diverse cultural and linguistic needs.
- Excellent clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and compliance documentation standards.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation packages reflective of your expertise.
- Flexible scheduling options promoting work-life balance and varied caseloads.
- Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neurorehabilitation, or geriatric care.
- Paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
- Support for continuing education and professional development.
- A collaborative, team-oriented environment dedicated to quality care and continuous learning.
Your Next Adventure Awaits
In this role, you'll not only practice speech therapy; you'll immerse yourself in a community-driven mission to restore voices, enhance communication, and cultivate joy through the most fundamental human actions: the ability to understand and be understood.
Work with a team that feels like a family, united in the belief that collaboration triumphs over competition. Every patient brings a unique story, and we trust you to help shape how those stories unfold.
