Details Work in the Burn ICU (BICU) of a Magnet-designated pediatric hospital Cares for adult and pediatric patients including those with diabetes, cardiac issues, psych concerns, and burn injuries Patient ratio of 1:2 Uses vasopressor medications, sedation, ventilators, and arterial lines Manages wound care for burn patients Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM) Every other weekend required Floating to competent units required during low census EPIC charting system experience preferred but not required Requirements Active OH RN license or compact license required at time of consideration BSN required due to Magnet facility status Minimum 2 years of experience required Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (active and in hand) TNCC certification preferred Previous travel nursing experience required Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs Respiratory skills required include BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT, NT) Experience with chronic/acute renal failure preferred Skills in infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, and phlebotomy required Cardiac monitoring skills required including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required Surgical ICU experience preferred Burn experience preferred Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to burn ICU patients including vasopressor and ventilator management Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate Prior employees may be considered for return as travelers if not currently active employees Submit all time off requests during the consideration process American Traveler Job ID P-736576.
