Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the labor and delivery unit during evening and night shifts. Ensure the safety and well-being of mother and newborns while adhering to hospital protocols and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health throughout labor and delivery processes.
• Administer medications, treatments, and anesthesia as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate and support patients and their families during labor, delivery, and postpartum.
• Document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes accurately in medical records.
• Respond swiftly to obstetric emergencies, providing critical interventions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid New York State RN license.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years recent experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification.
• Demonstrate experience with travel nursing and floating assignments.
• Be flexible to work evenings, nights, and potentially on-call shifts.
• Have reliable transportation if within 50 miles, with preferred local travel experience.
