Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be on directing and implementing individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at relieving pain, preventing disability, and restoring muscle function. Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing patients' functional abilities using a variety of diagnostic tests to determine effective treatment pathways.
• Administering therapeutic exercises, including manual techniques and modalities such as traction and massage, to facilitate recovery.
• Overseeing Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure adherence to established care plans, providing guidance and instruction as necessary.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients' home environments to recommend modifications that enhance their independence and safety.
• Preparing and maintaining accurate clinical documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Actively participating in case conferences and collaborating with healthcare team members to develop holistic treatment strategies.
• Educating patients and their families on treatment protocols, the use of any physical therapy devices, and strategies for ongoing recovery.
• Maintaining compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, ensuring a safe and effective treatment environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will predominantly work with patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, and chronic pain conditions. Your expertise will play a critical role in guiding patients through their recovery journeys, from acute interventions to facilitating ongoing self-care and strength-building strategies.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you should possess the following:

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in good standing within Virginia.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance, enabling mobility for home health visits.
• Current CPR certification.
• A deep commitment to clinical excellence, quality care, and integrity in patient interactions.

Preferred Experience

We value diverse experiences; while a minimum of one year of experience in a physical therapy role (preferably in acute care or home care settings) is required, candidates with advanced specialties or additional certifications will stand out. Compensation and Benefits
