Key Responsibilities

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to accurately diagnose mental health disorders.
• Creating and implementing individualized treatment plans founded on evidence-based practices, tailored to meet each patient's specific needs.
• Prescribing and managing psychotropic medications, monitoring their effectiveness, and making dosage adjustments as necessary to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Providing psychotherapy and counseling services, employing therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT).
• Collaborating with fellow mental health professionals to coordinate all aspects of patient care, ensuring an integrated and holistic approach to mental health treatment.
• Educating patients and their families on mental health conditions, available treatment options, and effective self-care strategies to empower them in their recovery journey.
• Documenting patient progress meticulously, including medication responses, therapy outcomes, and symptom changes, to maintain a comprehensive health record.
• Conducting regular follow-up appointments to assess treatment effectiveness and promptly address any new concerns or symptoms.
• Adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines, ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will serve a diverse patient population that includes individuals facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and severe mental illnesses. This role requires sensitivity and adaptability to cater to a wide range of ages and backgrounds, understanding the social determinants that may impact mental health.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
• A current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas.
• Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
• A proven track record of clinical experience in psychiatric and mental health settings.
• Strong knowledge base in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and various treatment modalities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in concierge medicine or house call settings.

Compensation and Benefits
