Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups utilizing standardized evaluation tools and observational methods.
  • Craft tailored treatment strategies that cater to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Implement individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
  • Engage collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and other caregivers to devise integrated care plans.
  • Provide valuable education for patients and their families to facilitate improved outcomes outside of therapeutic settings.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient assessments and therapy, promoting consistent care throughout the recovery process.
  • Ensure precise and timely record-keeping compliant with all federal, state, and organizational regulations.
  • Commit to professional development through continuous education and collaboration with peers in the field.
Education
  • Hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Complete a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Possess a valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferably hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Must acquire Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all age groups, with a robust understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional communication abilities fostering rapport with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Aptitude for adjusting therapy approaches to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
