Work Environment\n

This position offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while providing services directly to students in a school setting. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes psychologists, counselors, and school staff, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that is focused on student success. Regular hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts and rotating weekends as required based on school operations.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed mental health assessments for students, evaluating personal histories and current challenges to create tailored treatment plans.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment strategies that incorporate evidence-based practices, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care, designed to support emotional and behavioral growth.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, fostering personal development, emotional regulation, and coping strategies suitable for a school environment.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention, utilizing de-escalation techniques and supporting students in urgent situations while referring them to higher levels of care when necessary.

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, sharing insights and strategies to enhance care coordination and ensure comprehensive student support.
\n
• Keep meticulous records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage with students and families through psychoeducation, empowering them to understand mental health issues and available resources.

• Stay informed about relevant legal guidelines and ethical practices in school-based mental health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is on students ranging from preschool to high school. You will address a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. This diverse demographic requires an adaptable approach, considering each student's unique background and needs, ultimately contributing to a supportive educational experience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid LCSW licensure in New York State.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, ideally in a mental health or educational setting.

• A strong foundation in mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Experience in both individual and group therapy, employing various therapeutic approaches to meet client needs.

• Exceptional crisis intervention capabilities coupled with the ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology.

Compensation and Benefits\n
