Assembler (1st Shift) - Avery Creek

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an Assembler (1st Shift) - Avery Creek. Shift Hours: Monday - Thursday 5am - 3:30pm. This position is eligible for overtime, which can be mandated at times. The hourly rate for this position is $19.50 per hour. The core hours are Monday - Thursday 5am - 3:30pm. What You’ll Do The primary function of the Assembler is to perform winding, assembly, complex and repetitive wiring, and to produce complete sub-assemblies and final assembly of control equipment. Checks electrical and mechanical performance of completed assemblies. This department requires physical movement throughout the facility as it relates to mechanical assembly, and obtaining materials through kneeling, bending, squatting, and moving up and down ladders throughout the plant. In This Function You Will Work from drawings, engineering specifications, and manufacturing information to complete assembly and wiring of control equipment. Determine necessary parts and material and prepare requisition to obtain parts and material from stock. Prep wire for assembly by cutting, stripping, and attaching terminals. Route out, assemble, wire, adjust, fit, and modify parts, components, and sub-assemblies to form completed control assembly. May require lifting, bending, ladder work and other forms of movement. Check electrical and mechanical performance of completed assemblies to ensure conformance to Asheville Plant quality standards and make necessary adjustments and alignment when required. Execute engineering and customer changes and make repairs as required. Report irregularities or equipment malfunctions to coach. Maintain records as required. Observe all safety and hygiene rules and regulations. Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner. Other assignments as required. Position Criteria Able to lift 35 pounds – waist, shoulder, overhead; with or without accommodations. Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and squat, as it relates to moving materials, as well as moving up and down ladders frequently in relation to material handling, with or without accommodations. Able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams. Proven history of safe work habits. Must be able to work effectively without direct supervision. Computer skills – Microsoft Office, Internet, etc. Must be able to work overtime – weekdays and weekends.
