Head of Sales

After Adam is an early-stage startup that helps local businesses get more from every day with three things: a professional website, an AI receptionist that answers the calls they miss, and Eve, our AI agents that handle everyday work like scheduling, follow-ups and customer questions. Our customers are salons, groomers, auto shops, trades and other small businesses. We sell in person: a rep walks in, shows the owner a sample website we already built for their business on a tablet, and helps them get set up. The Role We are hiring our first Head of Sales, a founding-team role, to build and run our field sales team from the ground up. You report directly to the CEO and help shape how we sell, who we hire and how the team is paid. This is a player-coach role: you will sell in the field yourself while you recruit, train and coach commission-only reps across websites, AI receptionists and Eve AI agents. Equity This role comes with equity in the form of stock options. Because you are joining at the start, you share in what we build, on top of your commission. Option terms are provided in writing before you commit. What You'll Do Recruit, onboard and coach field sales reps Run the weekly pipeline: territories, visits, follow-ups and closes Sell in person alongside your reps, especially in your first months Use our tablet walk-up app and CRM to keep the team accountable to real numbers Help set the pitch, objection handling and territory plan with the CEO based on what closes What You Bring Experience leading or building a field or door-to-door sales team (small-business sales is a plus) You have personally closed deals in person and can teach others how Comfort with a commission-based model and coaching people who are paid that way Startup mindset: you are happy building the process, not just following one Curiosity about AI products and the ability to explain them simply to a busy owner You manage from a CRM and a funnel, not gut feel Reliable transportation and willingness to be out in the field How You're Paid Commission only (independent contractor). The range shown ($79,000 to $119,000 per year) is illustrative. It is the annual commission from your own sales at 80% to 120% of our target sales pace under our compensation plan, assuming customers stay active. It is not a base salary or a guarantee, and actual earnings depend on your sales and customer retention. A team override on your reps' commissions and the stock options described above are additional, with terms provided in writing before you commit. You set your own schedule and cover your own vehicle, phone and taxes. Not a Fit If You want a fixed schedule or a base salary, or you have only managed people remotely and never sold in the field.
