Global Event Security Manager, Protective Services Media and Events Job ID: 10435000 | Amazon.com Services LLC The Protective Services Global Event team is responsible for security support to events and executives globally. This position focuses on the safety, security, and privacy of our customers, vendors, and associates while ensuring business continuity at company events worldwide. The team works in a fast‑paced, highly dynamic, and mobile environment, partnering with many Amazon teams worldwide. Domestic and international travel is extensive. Key Job Responsibilities Develop and manage customized security plans for events worldwide Develop and manage security for VIPs at specialized and sensitive events Conduct pre‑event site assessments when necessary Manage proprietary and contract security personnel, law enforcement operations, and medical personnel as part of the overall security plan Provide security briefings to all levels of customers and partners, including senior leadership Prepare and manage security operating budgets on a case‑by‑case basis Support event, marketing, and public relations departments while maintaining security standards Work closely with senior‑level internal partners and serve as a representative for security guidance during planning meetings Assist with the creation and implementation of a development planning process through structured education and mentoring Provide support and assistance to other teams within Protective Services and other business units on an as‑needed basis Partner with business teams to develop and implement KPIs, establish strategic roadmaps, and complete projects including drafting, editing, and revising reports, location assessments, and analytical white papers Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security, Law Enforcement, Business Management, Accounting or related fields 5+ years of Incident Management, Threat Management, Corporate Investigations, Law Enforcement, Security Operations, Crisis Management or related field experience Experience building and maintaining business relationships with teams, vendors, and external security partners Experience working cross‑functionally with tech and non‑tech teams Work a non‑traditional schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior leadership Experience with domestic or international travel coordination, or experience with end‑to‑end project management Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment Preferred Qualifications Experience in the security field in a global corporate environment or large‑sized organization (e.g., NGO, public sector, police, or military), including experience in a managerial role 5+ years of project management (including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and critical path management) experience Experience leading prioritization of tasks, team scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines Experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and reacting with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround, or experience handling confidential information and maintaining professionalism in dealing with senior executives Experience in providing protection for VIPs, dignitaries and executives Location and Salary: USA, CA, Virtual Location - California - $72,900.00 - $127,500.00 USD annually USA, NY, Virtual Location - New York - $72,900.00 - $127,500.00 USD annually USA, WA, Seattle - $80,200.00 - $127,500.00 USD annually USA, WA, Virtual Location - Washington - $80,200.00 - $127,500.00 USD annually Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
