Industrial Maintenance Technician - PLC/CNC Specialist

We are seeking a hands-on CNC Maintenance Mechanic for our ITAR-registered, ISO 9001/AS9100 aerospace manufacturing facility. This role is a blend of heavy physical machinery repair and critical diagnostics. You will be our first line of defense, responsible for tearing down, fixing, and rebuilding complex CNC machinery. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical intuition and diagnostic skills, but also possesses the professional judgment to know when a highly specialized issue requires outsourcing, serving as the technical point-of-contact for OEM service engineers. Our Maintenance Technicians are part of a highly skilled team that is critical in supporting production and ensuring equipment is operational in order to consistently meet production goals and our customers' needs. Responsibilities Perform heavy mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on machines like, Mazak, Mori Seiki, and Daewoo Lynx. This includes replacing ball screws, rebuilding spindles, aligning turrets, and replacing hydraulic pumps. Troubleshoot mechanical failures, electrical faults, and control errors (Fanuc, Mazatrol, etc.). Pinpoint root causes efficiently to minimize machine downtime. Act as the technical lead when a complex diagnostic dead-end is reached. Effectively communicate symptoms to external OEM technicians (e.g., Mazak service) and manage the outsourced repair process to completion. Performing preventative and predictive maintenance Maintain accurate records of projects including machine assembly, start up and installation Participate in daily meetings, prioritizing and reviewing the daily schedule of work Interface with all departments and other personnel in an effective and efficient manner Self-motivated, highly organized and able to multi-task Positively interface with fellow employees and customers in difficult situations Contribute to the company and your team by identify and communicate project improvements opportunities Follow company process and procedures to comply with ISO and AS9100 standards Follow basic shop housekeeping rules, leaving work areas in a clean and orderly manner General facility preventative and repair maintenance Follow all company safety practices and rules Authority to perform all tasks/activities responsible for Basic Qualifications At least three years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing multi-axis CNC machine tools. Experience with Siemens 840D, and/Fanuc Controls and Drives Proficient in reading electrical schematics, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, and interpreting CNC alarm codes to isolate problems. Strong problem-solving skills with the maturity to recognize when a technical dead-end has been reached, prioritizing shop efficiency over struggling with a problem solo. Must be a U.S. Citizen due to the nature of the work, compliance with federal contracts, and exposure to ITAR/EAR-regulated technical data. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Skilled in: Able to express basic electronic, mechanical and hydraulic principles used in electrical and mechanical maintenance work assignments Solid mechanical aptitude of complex mechanical assemblies including precision measurements Able to read and interpret blueprints Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving capabilities Strong verbal and written communications skills An analytical and detail-oriented personality The knowledge of conventional welding, carpentry and plumbing Must be capable of working efficiently and effectively at any shift such as days or weekends, including irregular and unscheduled hours, if required for machine breakdown and time sensitive projects Work Environment The job operates in a manufacturing atmosphere.
