Job Title: X-Ray Technologist

Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified)

Description:
The X-Ray Technologist operates or oversees the operation of radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
Responsible for preparing the patient for radiological procedures and adhering to safety measures to ensure compliance with regulations and the safety of patients and staff.
Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential patients and others involved.
Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties and providing explanations of treatment while answering questions.
Prepares patients for radiological procedures by positioning them and adjusting immobilization devices.
Moves equipment into specified positions and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors.
Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques and using beam restrictive devices.
Adheres to established infection control policies and procedures.
Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures.
Processes radiographs and observes radiographic results, making necessary adjustments as needed.
Documents patient care services by charting in patient records and completing and verifying exams.
Ensures the operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
Follows manufacturer's instructions and troubleshoots malfunctions, calling for repairs when necessary.
Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock and anticipating needed supplies.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by fulfilling regulatory Continuing Medical Education requirements.
Attends educational workshops and reviews professional publications to enhance skills.
Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
Completes yearly Age Specific Competency and other relevant duties as assigned.
