Patient Service Rep

Patient Service Representative

Our client is a leading Healthcare provider in the Greater Philadelphia area! Their practice in Plumsteadville, PA is seeking a Patient Services Representative to provide exceptional customer service and administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless experience from appointment scheduling through check-in and check-out while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards.

Patient Services & Scheduling

  • Answer incoming patient calls and respond to inquiries promptly while following established protocols and service standards.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments both in person and over the phone.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including:
    • Collecting copays
    • Obtaining insurance cards and referrals
    • Securing required signatures
    • Updating patient information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Communicate patient wait times and assist in managing patient flow throughout the practice.
  • Provide a positive and professional experience for patients and visitors.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefit information.
  • Obtain pre-authorizations and referrals as needed.
  • Coordinate benefits and assist with insurance-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and office documentation.

Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA standards.
  • Support a safe and compliant healthcare environment.

Customer Experience

  • Anticipate patient needs and resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, visitors, and staff.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service with empathy and professionalism.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Administrative experience in a healthcare or medical office environment preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience with scheduling, insurance verification, and patient registration preferred.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems; EPIC experience is highly preferred.

Schedule

The weekly schedule includes:

  • One late shift: 12:00 PM 8:30 PM
  • Three shifts ranging between 7:45 AM 5:30 PM
  • Alternating Saturdays every four weeks: 8:00 AM 12:00 PM
  • Employees working the Saturday rotation will leave early on Thursday to maintain a 40-hour work week.

Pay Details: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour
