Portfolio Leader (Manager/Director Levels)

About The Role Salesforce is hiring a Portfolio Leader to directly manage and grow a team of technical AI specialists deploying Agentforce solutions inside complex customer environments. The role is a hands‑on leadership position that focuses on engineering excellence while working at the executive level. You will lead a blended delivery team consisting of Forward Deployed Engineers—developers who design, build, and deploy AI agents in customer environments—and Deployment Strategists—strategic builders who advise customers on AI strategy, use cases, and adoption. Builder Leadership Experience Deliver team coordination: own capacity planning, talent acquisition, and staffing to enable enterprise‑scale deployments. AI‑augmented leadership: ship solutions using a suite of AI tools (Cursor, Claude, Salesforce coding products like Vibes) while fostering an inclusive, high‑energy culture that encourages rapid iteration. Direct product influence: partner with Product and Engineering on pilot programs and beta rollouts, translating field insights into roadmap features. What You’ll Actually Be Building & Execution Leadership & Team Excellence Scale elite talent by recruiting, mentoring, and developing Technical and Strategic Builders; drive technical excellence and career growth. Maintain operational velocity: monitor delivery metrics, coach teams on optimization, and address complex customer escalations to move from sketch to deployable in weeks. Technical Strategy & Authority Serve as the final technical escalation point, providing deep architectural judgment across the Salesforce platform, advanced LLM techniques, data pipelines, and agentic orchestration. Guide enterprise implementations by removing deployment barriers, assessing technical readiness, and codifying repeatable delivery methodologies. Customer & Business Impact Drive agentic adoption by building executive‑level relationships within your customer portfolio to ensure flawless activation and sustained value. Accelerate portfolio performance by monitoring health, delivery velocity, and consumption metrics to achieve customer business outcomes. Align cross‑functionally with Services, Account Success, and Product to move customers from pilot to production quickly. You’re Our Builder Lead If… Have 4+ years of direct people management or high‑impact technical leadership experience with cross‑functional engineering teams. Bring advanced technical depth in AI, LLMs, and the Salesforce ecosystem, with hands‑on experience in enterprise software implementation, data modeling, API integration, and AI deployments. Have hands‑on experience architecting or deploying Salesforce Data Cloud and the Agentforce platform. Lead with an enterprise customer focus and possess executive‑level communication and influence skills. Exhibit a ship‑it mindset with problem‑solving instincts, resourcefulness, and a “get‑things‑done” demeanor. Nice‑to‑Haves Experience building multi‑agent systems, prompt engineering pipelines, or deterministic AI guardrails. Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery) and enterprise data pipelines. Relevant Salesforce certifications (Advanced Admin, Service Cloud, Data Cloud, Sales Cloud, or Agentforce Specialist). Typical base salary for this position is $155,190 – $299,390 annually. Additional compensation may include bonus, incentive, equity, or other benefits. Compensation ranges differ by location, with California and New York, and select cities in Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington D.C. available for a higher base pay range.
