Executive Director

The Executive Director shall have full responsibility for the operation and management of the community and for all marketing, business, and financial functions of the community in accordance with the policies of the management company, the Owners, and Federal/State/Local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities include overseeing all hiring practices to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, ensuring staff is hired within budgetary guidelines, participating in preparation of the community budget, training all department heads on maintaining a budget and overseeing budgetary compliance in each department while also maintaining effective levels of care and primary resident day expense obligations, reviewing monthly financials with all department heads and preparing a variance report in keeping with company guidelines, developing plans of correction as needed, leading the approval process for all contracts for services provided within the community, achieving budgeted NOI, complying with all local, state, and federal regulations and staying aware of relevant changes and updates, planning for and managing the survey process and preparing all plans of correction, maintaining good relations with local and state regulatory agencies, overseeing the completion of all risk assessments and necessary family and physician communication for at-risk residents, overseeing corporate and state compliance with incident reporting guidelines, maintaining or exceeding budgeted occupancy, overseeing the development and implementation of the marketing plan, sustaining good resident relations through daily visits and monitoring resident and family morale, overseeing monthly Resident Council Meetings, overseeing the Resident and Family Grievance Process, overseeing the resident move-in process to ensure a smooth transition for all new residents and their families, overseeing the resident satisfaction survey program and calling families to address any concerns noted or when a survey is not returned, ensuring enforcement of the Resident Bill of Rights, making daily rounds to ensure that the building is clean and furniture is placed appropriately, overseeing routine and preventative maintenance programs, overseeing Capital Improvement projects as needed, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience working as an Executive Director, holding a current administrative license for the state in which the position is located, demonstrated success managing all aspects of senior community operations, strong sales leadership skills, ability to build relationships with community groups that will help grow census, strong customer service skills with the ability to problem solve, ability to lead a management team and promote staff development, demonstrated record of financial management proficiency, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations, ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and must be able to lift, carry, and push up to 25 lbs.
