Trademark Paralegal

Sughrue Mion, PLLC, a leading Intellectual Property law firm located in Washington, DC, is seeking a Trademark Paralegal. This position will provide assistance to attorneys in trademark prosecution and enforcement efforts for domestic and international trademark portfolios.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain trademark files for the prosecution and maintenance of domestic and international trademarks.
• Draft correspondence and prepare documents and forms for attorney review.
• Manage client billing to include organizing invoices from vendors and arranging for approval and payment of same.
• Prepare, review, and electronically file documents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), to include, but not limited to trademark applications, Office Action responses, Statements of Use and Post-Registration filings.
• Review and report incoming filing receipts, publication notices, registration certificates, and renewal certificates.
• Conduct research to include retrieving information from the USPTO website and legal sources as needed.
• File and serve litigation motions and associated documents in Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) proceedings.
• Engage in correspondence with clients and foreign associates in connection with the registration, maintenance and enforcement of trademark portfolios.
• Other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1-3 years trademark experience preferred

Position Location:

This position is located in the Washington, DC office which is currently operating in a hybrid mode.
