Director of Contracts & Lease Administration | Deerfield Beach, FL
\nStevenDouglas is working with a premier commercial real estate company developing and managing shopping centers across Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio to hire a Director of Contracts & Lease Administration to join its legal team on-site in Deerfield Beach.
\nThis is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, taking over a well-established function from a longtime paralegal transitioning toward retirement, with a knowledge transfer period built in.
\nWhat you'll do:
\n- \n
- Manage the full lease administration process, from drafting through execution, including amendments, extensions, assignments, consents, estoppels, and SNDAs \n
- Negotiate small-shop leases and ancillary documents within established company parameters \n
- Oversee tenant improvement allowance review, approval, and disbursement \n
- Support acquisitions, dispositions, and construction loan closings from due diligence through post-closing \n
- Administer contracts for development and construction agreements \n
- Manage corporate governance, entity formation, and annual compliance filings \n
- Review title commitments, surveys, and related due diligence materials, and coordinate platting and easement matters \n
- Partner closely with the Chief Legal Officer and collaborate regularly with Leasing, Development/Construction, Property Management, and Accounting/Finance \n
What we're looking for:
\n- \n
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in commercial real estate as a senior paralegal, lease administrator, or similar professional \n
- Strong background in leasing, loan closings, title/survey work, and corporate governance \n
- Notary commission, or willingness to obtain one promptly \n
- In-house experience with a developer, owner, or property management company preferred \n
- Familiarity with retail shopping centers and Florida/North Carolina real estate practices a plus \n
On-site in Deerfield Beach, five days a week.
