What You Will Do:

• Assist in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), open-heart surgeries, valve repairs/replacements, and other complex cardiovascular procedures
• Perform vein harvesting (demonstrated independent ability), endoscopic radial artery harvesting, and EVH techniques
• Support critical care management in the CV ICU, including pre- and post-operative patient care
• Handle advanced procedures such as Impella support, chest tube placement, arterial and venous sheath insertions, and central line placements
• Contribute to surgical outcomes through diligent perioperative management and procedural support in a fast-paced environment

Required Skills:

• Proven experience assisting in cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, including CABG and open-heart procedures
• Demonstrated ability to perform vein harvesting, EVH, and other advanced vascular techniques independently
• Strong knowledge of critical care protocols within the CV ICU
• Proficiency in invasive procedures like chest tube insertion, sheath placements, and central line placement
• Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude

Nice to Have Skills:

• Exposure to sternal closure techniques and sternotomy management
• Familiarity with Impella devices and perioperative hemodynamic support
• Experience with surgical pre-/post-operative care workflows
• Prior involvement in endoscopic or minimally invasive vascular harvesting procedures

Preferred Education and Experience:

• NCCPA-certified Physician Assistant with at least 2 years of experience in cardiovascular and/or thoracic surgery
• Prior work in a high-volume surgical center or ICU setting preferred
• Additional certifications in advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) or critical care are advantageous

Other Requirements:

• Valid licensure and certification in good standing
• Ability to work flexible hours, including potential on-call shifts
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development
• Travel reimbursements considered as applicable
